WELCOME TO DAGENHAM                              MONTESSORI CHILDMINDING.

Tiny Blossoms Montessori is a bilingual (english-italian) new and unique kind of child care, that aims to direct each child's immense learning potential so that it is not wasted during the most productive years.
The approach used is based on the Montessori method, the eyfs and a motherly style of teaching and guiding young children, putting an emphasis on  respect and contact with nature.
.
Tiny Blossoms Montessori aims to provide a calm, relaxed and also cheerful environment where children can pick and choose their activities, concentrate, care for the setting and for others, learn social skills and build a relationship of trust with the childminder. The children will be cared for in a loving setting where they will receive all the attention they need, and where they will feel at ease and become part of a big serene family.
The routine will be made up of different parts so that the children can develop all their skills (intellectual, physical, sensorial, social) by experiencing all the Montessori materials and taking part in activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Each child will learn self-independence, discipline, concentration, kindness towards others, good manners and to respect nature; they will be taught about the world around us through hands-on-experience and topics covering geography, botanic, science and history.

Our children are our greatest investment for our and their future, their education will always be at the base of their development as future men and women. Their emotional development will always be extremely important to me. I will give each child attention, affection and care for them as if their were my own. I will make the children feel they are important and valued, and build a close and positive relationship with them.
Tiny Blossoms Montessori childminding is set in a spacious, child size and child friendly ground floor flat, in a quite new residential location in Dagenham, in the Barking and Dagenham bourough, Essex. The setting is designed to be a second home for the child, but also be as closed to a nursery room as possible so to accommodate the different kind of activities a child may want to do (quiet reading, messy activities, art and craft, home corner, construction etc).

MONTESSORI METHOD:
The learning journey every child
should experience

The founder of this learning style is Dr Maria Montessori (Italy 1870- 1952) who observing children, defined a new scientific educational method and materials that gave children the opportunity to look after their environment and themselves. She noticed how children were vividly interested in all the materials provided, especially those related to real life. From these observations came the declaration that children are not helpless and inert beings, but have a inner guide and are eager to learn, and that is the “prepared” environment, one that can stimulate children,
is child-size and where they can make choices of what to learn, the most important aid for their whole development.

The Montessori methods is highly renowned for the emphasis it puts on educating the whole child as the man/woman of the future. The Montessori education aims at helping the child’s natural process of development
four[1] through well designed materials and a "directress",  e.i. a person that can direct a child's self-learning process, so that he may realise the potential which he was born with.
The main principle of the method is that children learn directly from their environment by observing, copying adults and experiencing first hand, i.e. they have an "absorbent mind".
Great importance is placed on “practical life activities” which uses every day objects children see adults use. Children are very interested in learning how to use those tools, and Dr. Montessori provided them with those same tools, but  just in that child-size form they were finally able to handle. "Practical life activities"  teach children every day skills and prepare them for independence.
Mathematic is taught through well designed and planned materials that help children to learn numbers, how to count, add, multiply etc.
Very important is to give children all the words the crave for, naming things with their right name, even scientific and botanic names. Letters are taught through phonetics, and children learn to read and write without effort.
In a Montessori environment children reach such a level of concentration on the work they are doing, and discipline in doing that work exactly as it should be done that  “The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, "The children are now working as if I did not exist."”
The method is a precursor of the frame-work 0-5 years all nurseries now have to work on, but the ethos and the materials remain an original and only feature of Montessori education.
